Level 3 Teaching Assistant - SEMH School

We are currently recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant on behalf of a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Bolton. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and resilient TA who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional and complex needs.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs across the school day, both in the classroom and through targeted 1:1 or small group interventions
Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals to support learning, behaviour and emotional regulation
Using trauma-informed and restorative approaches to manage behaviour positively
Helping pupils to access the curriculum, develop social skills and build emotional resilience
Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour, ensuring a calm and consistent approach
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or trauma
A good understanding of behaviour management strategies, emotional regulation and de-escalation techniques
The ability to build strong, professional relationships with pupils who may struggle with trust and engagement
A calm, patient and resilient approach to work
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience in an SEMH school, PRU or alternative provision
Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
Experience supporting pupils with Autism or ADHD
Psychology, youth work or related background
