Full-Time, Long-Term (Year 1 Support) A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Strood is seeking a caring and confident Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil who needs guidance with their learning journey and help with regulating frustrations. About the Role Full-time, long-term position starting Term 4 / February 2026 Providing consistent 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil Assisting with early learning skills, activities and classroom engagement Using calm, nurturing approaches to help the pupil manage their emotions Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies Helping to create a positive, structured learning environment About You Experience working with children in KS1 (SEN experience essential) Patient, empathetic and able to remain calm under pressure Skilled in supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour Creative in encouraging participation, progress and independence A strong team player with excellent communication skills Committed to safeguarding and supporting pupil wellbeing We Offer A friendly, supportive school environment Ongoing training and development opportunities A rewarding role where you can make a real and lasting impact If you are passionate about helping young learners thrive and feel you can offer the right level of support, please contact Anita at Academics today
