A secondary school in Bolton is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher to join their team from Easter 2026
. This is a full‑time position suitable for an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to further develop their practice in a supportive environment. Candidates will be paid to scale based on their MPS/UPS.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, contribute to the wider humanities curriculum, and play an active role in the school community.

  • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes engagement
  • Support the school’s behaviour policies and uphold safeguarding standards
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and wider school activities
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Strong subject knowledge in History
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
  • A proactive, committed and professional approach
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners of all abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
