We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a well‑established secondary school in Bolton. This role is based within the school’s internal provision, supporting students with their classwork, helping them stay on task, and promoting positive behaviour throughout the school day.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is calm, resilient and confident in building relationships with young people who may display challenging behaviour.
You will work closely with students who require additional support, ensuring they remain engaged in their learning while addressing behavioural issues in a consistent, supportive manner. Your role will involve guiding pupils through their work, encouraging positive choices, and maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
- Support students with their classwork within the school’s provision
- Promote positive behaviour and manage challenging situations effectively
- Build strong, professional relationships with students and staff
- Encourage engagement and participation in learning activities
- Provide clear communication and maintain accurate behaviour records
- Contribute to a supportive, structured and inclusive school environment
- Confident managing behaviour in a secondary school setting
- Able to remain calm, patient and professional under pressure
- Strong communicator with a supportive and proactive approach
- Experience in a school, youth work or SEN/SEMH setting is desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
