Full-time, Monday to FridayHours: 08:00 - 16:00 Pay: £120.00 - £140.00 per day Start Date: February 2026
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Pastoral Year Lead to join the team within established secondary school in Bolton . This is a key pastoral role supporting pupils across the key stages, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote positive behaviour, attendance and wellbeing.
You will work closely with pupils, the pastoral team, Deputy Headteacher and external agencies to support vulnerable students, including those with attendance concerns, behavioural needs, reintegration plans or who are new to the school.
This is a temporary role, anticipated to run until Easter 2026, subject to school requirements.
As a Pastoral Year Lead you will:
- Act as a positive role model and build strong relationships with pupils Promote good behaviour, safety, attendance and punctuality Provide social, emotional and wellbeing support Support pupils on modified timetables and reintegration plans Assist students joining mid-year or returning from long-term absence Support transitions between key stages (KS2-KS4) Work with pastoral staff to implement behaviour and support plans Monitor and report on behaviour, attendance and progress (CPOMS, reports) Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures
Requirements
- Experience in a pastoral, behaviour or inclusion role within education Strong behaviour management and communication skills Calm, resilient and empathetic approach Ability to work effectively with staff, families and external professionals Secondary school or alternative provision experience (desirable)
To be eligible you must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold, or be willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS (Child Barred List) registered with the Update Service
- Be able to provide two professional, child-related references
