Schedule:
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30, during term time only.
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support to students with ASD, PMLD, and other complex learning needs.
- Assist with personal care routines, ensuring the dignity, hygiene, and well-being of every student.
- Support students with their bespoke learning and development, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual sensory needs.
- Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment through proactive classroom management.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to deliver holistic support.
- Help IEPs and specific behavioural strategies.
- Encourage student independence and facilitate social interaction with peers.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and parents.
- Utilise specialist sensory equipment and communication aids to enhance student engagement.
- At least 3-6 months of recent UK experience in a school, residential, or care setting.
- Previous experience supporting students or children with ASD or compounded complex needs.
- Confidence in providing one-to-one support in a specialist environment.
- Willingness and physical ability to assist with personal care and manual handling tasks.
- Full-time availability for the working hours of 08:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday.
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or
3) is desirable but not essential. - Team Teach or similar de-escalation training is preferred.
- An enhanced children and adults DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
