Behaviour Mentor

Our client secondary school in Bolton is looking to recruit a full‑time Behaviour Mentor.

The role is expected to start in September 2026, though the school is open to a candidate who can begin as soon as possible.

• Full‑time position – 35 hours per week.
• Salary: £22,000 to £26,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
• Location:
  
  Bolton, easily accessible by car or public transport from surrounding areas such as Bury, Salford, and Wigan.
• School size: approximately 700 pupils with a dedicated behavioural provision.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students aged 11‑16.
• Develop and implement tailored strategies in collaboration with parents, carers and teachers.
• Promote positive behaviour management.
• Assist students in overcoming barriers to learning.
• Diffuse situations and apply the school's behaviour strategy to manage incidents.
• Support students who display signs of challenging behaviour.

• Prior experience in a similar role supporting students with SEMH and/or behavioural needs.
• Confidence in working with students exhibiting challenging behaviour.
• Relevant qualifications and training appropriate to the role.
• Valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
