Behaviour Intervention Worker

Location: Bolton area
Employer: Teaching Personnel
Start Date: September (Full-Time)

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Intervention Worker to support pupils within a specialist setting in the Bolton area. This provision supports children and young people who require additional behavioural and emotional support to access education successfully.

About the Setting

The school supports pupils typically aged 8–16 years who present with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Behavioural challenges and dysregulation
  • Possible associated learning difficulties and/or Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

The environment is structured, supportive, and focused on nurturing positive behaviours and re‑engaging pupils with learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support to pupils with behavioural needs
  • Implement behaviour intervention strategies and support plans
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and emotional regulation
  • Support teaching staff in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Encourage pupils’ social and emotional development
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour
  • Assist with de‑escalation strategies when required
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or in a similar setting
  • A proactive, empathetic, and patient approach
  • Strong behaviour management skills and resilience
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
