Level 2 Early Years Teaching Assistant - Alderman Bolton Primary Academy The role

Alderman Bolton Primary Academy is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and committed Level 2 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our team on a permanent, term time only basis.

The role involves supporting teaching and learning within the Early Years provision, working with individuals and small groups through play-based activities. The successful candidate will help to create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment, supporting children’s communication, early literacy and numeracy skills, promoting independence and positive behaviour, and contributing to observations of children’s progress. The role also includes supporting personal care where appropriate and assisting in the preparation and organisation of learning environments.

The post is 32.5 hours per week, term time only, with a start date of September 2026 or sooner.

We are looking for a candidate with experience of working with young children in an Early Years or primary setting and a Level 2 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent). The successful candidate will have a good understanding of child development, strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
