We’re currently recruiting for a SEND Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEND School in Bolton
. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

You’ll be working in a specialist educational setting that is dedicated to supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The school prides itself on creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain valuable hands‑on experience before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy or another child‑focused profession.

Your

Main Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Supporting pupils with SEND on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging, differentiated learning activities.
  • Supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence throughout the school day.
  • Helping to create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Assisting with personal care where required, depending on individual pupil needs.
Requirements or

Skills:
  • A degree in any subject.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

The role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
