Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Pay Rate: £92.59 – £110.24 per day
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Length: Full Academic Year

Learning Support Assistant Needed for Specialist SEN School in Bolton

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can help young people achieve their potential? We are recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work within a thriving Secondary SEN School in Bolton from September 2026.

This long-term opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy supporting young people and want to play a key role in helping students develop academically, socially and emotionally. The school caters for pupils with a range of additional needs and prides itself on providing a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support students aged 11-16 with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Assist pupils in accessing lessons and engaging with classroom activities
  • Deliver targeted interventions and learning support programmes
  • Promote student confidence, independence and self-esteem
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
  • Contribute to the overall wellbeing and progress of students
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work or support settings
  • A positive, patient and flexible approach
  • The ability to build strong relationships and act as a positive role model
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
  • Knowledge of SEN, autism, SEMH or ADHD (beneficial but not essential)
