About the role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil at a welcoming primary school in Bolton.
This is a full-time, long-term position, providing essential one-to-one support to help a child access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within the classroom environment. The role is due to commence in September 2026.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team to deliver tailored support and ensure the pupil receives the highest standard of care and encouragement throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with Special Educational Needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Support the pupil’s academic progress, engagement, and participation in learning activities.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence throughout the school day.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies and monitor progress.
- Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school, care, or support setting.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Two education based references from within the last two years
- The ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.
- A Clear, enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
