SEN TA - Horwich; part time and fill time

Are you an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant who wants to make a real difference to children with additional needs?

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Bolton, BL6 area
.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with children with SEND
, particularly those with autism and ADHD
, who understands that every child learns differently.

• Provide high-needs SEN support both in and outside of the classroom
• Work closely with children with autism and ADHD
  , using an understanding and nurturing approach
• Support children with NBIW and next-step boards
• Use brain breaks and sensory strategies to help children regulate and engage with learning
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Adapt learning and activities to meet individual children's needs
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support
  , including working from individual workstations
• Follow SENDCO plans and individual support strategies
• Work closely with teachers and the wider school team
• Liaise with families, SEND professionals and external agencies
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
• Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

• Has previous experience working with children with SEN
• Has experience supporting high-needs pupils
• Has a good understanding of autism and ADHD
• Is patient, caring, calm and consistent
• Can build strong relationships with children
• Is confident adapting activities and approaches to suit individual needs
• Can work independently while also being part of a wider team
• Has excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children

A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification would be desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered.

Part-time and full-time hours available
