This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Personal Care Assistant, Support Worker, Teaching Assistant or someone with a strong background in care who is looking to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

The school supports pupils with a range of complex learning and physical needs. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must be reliable, patient, compassionate and fully committed to providing consistent support to pupils throughout the school day.

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will work closely with pupils and the wider school team to support their personal care, wellbeing and day-to-day needs.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting pupils with personal care, including toileting and changing where required
  • Assisting pupils with eating and drinking
  • Supporting pupils with their mobility and physical needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where appropriate
  • Helping pupils access learning and school activities
  • Supporting pupils with communication and emotional regulation
  • Following individual care plans and EHCP requirements
  • Maintaining a safe, calm and supportive environment
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
  • Promoting pupils' independence and dignity at all times

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2026) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.

Previous experience working within SEN schools, residential care, healthcare, support work or personal care would be highly beneficial. However, the school will consider candidates with transferable experience who demonstrate the right attitude and commitment.
