- Delivering engaging sessions: 2 hours of Maths and 2 hours of English, with a 15-minute break between lessons.
- Adapting teaching and resources to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
- Assessing learners' understanding and monitoring progress throughout the assignment.
- Providing constructive feedback and encouragement, fostering learners' confidence.
- Completing marking and associated administration within the allocated paid hour each week.
- Creating an inclusive environment where each learner feels supported and motivated to achieve.
- PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification (QTS is not required).
- Proven experience teaching Functional Skills Maths and English.
- Previous experience teaching SEND learners is essential.
- Confident in adapting teaching methods and resources to support diverse abilities and needs.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service (essential).
- Available to start immediately and commit to the 38-week assignment.
- Able to provide references covering recent employment.
You’ll be based in Bolton, working in a specialist education environment. Teaching hours are Tuesdays from 9:15am to 1:15pm, plus one paid hour for marking and planning, totaling 5 paid hours each week for 38 weeks.
The setting is well resourced, and you’ll have access to all the tools you need, including a laptop provided specifically for the duration of your assignment.
