Cover People are recruiting an enthusiastic SEMH HLTA for a secondary alternative education provision in Egerton, in the north of Bolton. You'll provide general behaviour and pastoral support, while also leading practical activities through the school's Vocational Skills Hub.

• Provide general behaviour and pastoral support to secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
• Lead engaging activities including games, food, life skills, outdoor education and sports.
• Help run the Vocational Skills Hub and encourage pupils to get involved in practical activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and help them develop confidence, resilience and independence.
• Support pupils who may display challenging behaviour and remain calm when situations become difficult.
• Work closely with teaching, pastoral and leadership staff to support pupils' wellbeing and progress.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and life skills throughout the school day.

• HLTA qualification or another similar-level qualification, or above.
• Some experience working with young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Resilient, calm and not easily phased by difficult situations.
• Confident leading activities and engaging young people in practical learning.
• A flexible, hands-on approach and good communication skills.
• Ideally a driver, as this role may involve supporting vocational and outdoor activities.
• A genuine passion for helping young people develop practical, social and life skills.
