Location: Bolton preferred (relocation assistance available); can also consider Bristol or Stevenage
Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience
Working Pattern: Hybrid with flexible working hours
We are looking for an experienced and professional Project Manager with an engineering background to join a team delivering export defence infrastructure projects. The role will primarily support UK‑led projects while providing additional support to international initiatives as required.
Key Responsibilities- Lead or participate in capturing customer requirements and interpreting in‑country laws, regulations and standards for design
- Work on requirements with technical and end‑user needs for storage, maintenance and operation of munitions and associated systems
- Organise projects, establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Organisational Breakdown Structure (OBS), ensuring projects meet the time, cost and quality targets
- Propose infrastructure solutions and associated services, authorise major decisions, validate design and site integration, and manage risks and opportunities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and international customers
- Design engineering background, with knowledge of one of the following discipline areas;
Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering (degree or higher education preferred) - Experience in construction contract management and leading projects through RIBA stages
- Strong ability to capture and translate customer requirements into functional and compliant buildings in line with UK Regulations and In‑Country Regulations
- Experience in proposing infrastructure solutions and associated services, authorising major decisions, validating design and site integration as well as managing risks and opportunities
- Proven capability in leading multi‑functional project teams, including external consultants and main contractors
- Excellent communication skills, able to present complex proposals to senior stakeholders
- Willingness to travel internationally on a frequent basis
