Overview

This is a great opportunity for an Engineering Team Lead to join the Calibration & Maintenance department at Bolton, which is part of the Manufacturing functional organisation. The Calibration & Maintenance Engineering Team Lead will be responsible for day‑to‑day planning and completion of all Mechanical Calibration & Maintenance activities. These will range from managing preventative maintenance requirements for process equipment & ESS (Environmental Stress Screening) to Mechanical Calibration activities such as torque tooling calibration & CMM inspection tasks.

Knowledge of calibration requirements, calibration controls & equipment capabilities is critical, as well as the ability to work in cross functional teams, reporting to external stakeholders. You will be working with the wider C&M department supporting the Operations teams to deliver their routine calibration activities and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Manage routine calibrations of Mechanical equipment, ESD & EST test schedules & routine preventative maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for liaising with key stakeholders key stakeholders (MOMs & TLs) & assessing priority.
  • Responsible for resourcing failure modes of process equipment & mechanical test equipment, reducing operations downtime.
  • Responsible for KPIs such as start on time, schedule adherence and lead time for all routine calibrations.
  • Manage day to day deliverables of both engineers & operators within the team – routine calibrations, calibration failure / non‑conformance, COTS workload & backlog.
  • Support team development – conducting performance and development reviews in accordance with MBDA PAD2 process.
  • Working with external suppliers to manage offload calibration activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum HNC qualification or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject.
  • Proven people manager experience & understanding of delivering against KPIs.
  • Sound technical knowledge of test & process equipment (STTE & COTS), both theory and practical.
  • A strong understanding of calibration & maintenance principles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading audits and managing compliance to relevant standards.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders and managing workload.
