Job Description
** Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit!
** You will join an expanding team to support the development and delivery of work packages for our nuclear, marine, and O&G clients based around our Sunderland office. The role supports Hybrid working. As a Mechanical Engineer your role will include:
* ** Leading project tasks**:
Manage and plan projects for a team of engineers while coordinating with project management facilities.
* ** Producing engineering solutions**:
Deliver high-quality engineering solutions across a wide range of topics and activities.
* ** Communicating progress**:
Provide feedback on technical development and project delivery to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager.
* ** Mentoring**:
Offer technical guidance and support to team members, especially junior or graduate engineers.
* ** Managing time**:
Efficiently manage your time to meet agreed deadlines, target costs, and quality standards with minimal supervision.

* ** Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering
** or equivalent.
* ** Relevant senior engineering experience
** in sectors like offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
* ** Solid background in mechanical and structural engineering**.
* ** Proficient with CAD software**:
Skilled in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia.
* ** Strong mathematical skills**:
Experienced with MathCAD software.
* ** Skilled in producing technical reports**:
Expertise in creating design and substantiation reports, assembly procedures, etc.
* ** Knowledge of manufacturing processes**:
Understanding of welding, machining, etc.
* ** Experienced with the engineering design cycle
** from Concept to Manufacture.
* ** Familiar with European and Offshore standards**:

Experience with Eurocode 3 and DNV.
* ** Master’s degree is a plus**.
* ** Skilled in checking and approving engineering CAD assemblies and drawings**.
* ** Proficient in verifying engineering documentation**:
Manual calculations, reports, etc.
* ** Excellent Finite Element Analysis skills**:
In-depth knowledge of ANSYS Workbench is desirable.
* ** Experienced in non-linear and fatigue FEA**:
Familiar with DNV and Eurocodes.
