Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in three locations:
Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market.
The purpose of this role is to model detailing and production of fabrication drawings by interpreting and processing information for structural steel detailing. This will involve producing 3D models of steel structures based in information from the client.
Your key responsibilities will be to produce and check the models and drawings given by industrial field class, fabrication drawings and marking plans, including TEKLA modelling. Also to produce General Arrangement (GA) drawings from architects/engineers drawings.
You will also need to order preliminary materials and be responsible for raising RFIs (Request for Information) directly to a client and gathering information needed to coordinate details for production.
Good communication skills are needed for the role; you will be liaising with the design team, architects, consultant engineers, and other departments to coordinate projects.
Required Skills & Experience- Extensive experience using TEKLA Structures – Essential
- Strong CAD skills as your primary design tool
- Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word
- Advanced knowledge of TEKLA firm folders and settings – Advantageous
- A working knowledge of BIM processes
