Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Outskirts of Bolton (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)

Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE

We are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering organisation developing innovative products and solutions used across Europe. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects throughout the full product lifecycle, working within a collaborative engineering environment to deliver high-quality, commercially viable designs.

• Lead mechanical design activities from initial concept through to production release
• Take ownership of technical decisions and contribute to design reviews and engineering discussions
• Develop practical, cost-effective solutions with consideration for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and lifecycle requirements
• Produce detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and associated documentation
• Conduct engineering analysis and validation activities to support design decisions
• Build, modify, and evaluate prototypes to verify concepts and product performance
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across engineering, operations, procurement, and quality functions
• Liaise with external suppliers and manufacturing partners throughout the development process

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong 3D CAD experience (Solid Works preferred)
• Experience designing components and assemblies for manufacture
• Hands‑on prototyping, testing, and product development experience
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and project ownership skills
• Experience with engineering analysis tools would be advantageous
• Familiarity with product data management systems is desirable
• Familiarity with FEA, CFD, or other simulation and analysis tools is desirable
