Manufacturing Project Controller

About the Role

Location:

This role is based within the manufacturing environment, ensuring that our products are built to schedule, cost, and scope. The project controller will be responsible for creation and maintenance of manufacturing plans and will report to both manufacturing and core project teams.

Security Clearance:
British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) at the minimum.

• Validate cost control methods in project environments, forecast and apportion costs accurately, and support EAC and project production data.
• Compare actuals and forecasts to identify variances to budget and support mitigation or corrective action.
• Validate project level schedules, ensuring they are accurate, coherent and in accordance with programme planning principles.
• Interface with stakeholders to validate P6 schedules and forecasts across a variety of business disciplines.
• Lead generation of the Integrated Baseline (budget & schedule) to deliver programmes in accordance with planning principles and governance (change control).
• Produce data to support project health, analyse cost, schedule, resource and apply insight to key drivers and mitigation activities.
• Analyse cost and resource loaded schedules, including accurate forecasting of resources required to meet demand, and analyse spend vs planned resources.
• Proactively manage challenges, drive continuous improvement and standardisation.

• Planning experience ranging from detailed planning to summary level milestone delivery plans.
• Experience creating and maintaining project structures (WBS/CBS/OBS).
• Experience generating and analysing project performance data (schedule, resource, cost).
• Understanding of cost and resource loaded schedules.
• Experience managing projects to budget and cost control.
• Experience with project management tools such as SAP/ARM/Primavera/Oracle Unifier/MSP.
• Knowledge of baseline management and change control.
• Accountability for project data – owning quality of project control reporting, analysing variances and producing data insight.
• Ability to influence, work independently and as part of an integrated multi‑functional team.
• Clear communication skills and strong stakeholder management.
• Collaborative working relationships with colleagues at all levels; ability to prioritise workload and manage conflicting demands.
• Desirable:
  Risk & Opportunity Management / What‑If analysis, Critical Path Analysis, EVM experience, manufacturing/operational environment experience.

• Salary:
  Circa £36,000 – £45,000, depending on experience.
• Company bonus:
  Up to £2,500 (based on company performance).
• Pension: maximum total contribution (employer and employee) up to 14%.
