Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Test Equipment Design Engineer to join our Production Design Support Team. In this role you will provide test equipment design support to the Manufacturing organization, act as the focal project lead between design and manufacturing teams, and work closely with other support engineers to deliver on-time, high‑quality solutions.
Salary:
Up to £49,000, depending on experience.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4–5 days per week on site due to workload classification.
Security clearance:
British Citizen or a dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. Following the offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

As a Test Equipment Design Engineer you will:
- Lead projects between design teams and manufacturing to ensure integration of test equipment and product designs.
- Support the manufacturing phase, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting during production.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise design and production processes.
- Investigate root causes of design‑related issues and propose corrective actions to meet project timelines.
- Document engineering decisions and deliver clear, concise reports and proposals.
- Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience with proven experience in designing products or systems.
- Experience providing design support through the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Excellent verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated on‑time delivery record.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Passion for innovation and collaboration.
- Investigative skills to identify root causes of design issues and propose robust corrective actions.
- Proven design experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Digital & Analogue Electronics
- Power Electronics
- RF and Antenna Design
- Interconnects
- Safety Electronics
- RF Test and measurement principle knowledge
