Test Equipment Design Support Engineer

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Test Equipment Design Support Engineer to join them on an initial 6‑month basis. As Test Equipment Design Support Engineer, you will act as the interface between our design teams and our manufacturing teams while working alongside other support engineers to provide knowledge and support.

Pay: £65 per hour via Umbrella

6 months (possible extension)
IR35 Status:

Security Clearance: BPSS (requires Security Clearance)

Responsibilities

The role involves:

  • Acting as the interface between design teams and manufacturing teams.
  • Providing knowledge and support to design teams during the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.
  • Working autonomously when required, leading the delivery of work assignments.
  • Actively engaging with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of outputs.
  • Managing discreet work packages, preparing bids, controlling costs, and delivering solutions.
  • Investigating design-related issues, identifying root causes, and proposing robust corrective actions.
Qualifications

Degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) with experience designing products/systems and providing design support through manufacturing. Proven experience in the design of one or more of the following disciplines:

  • Digital and Analogue electronics
  • Power Electronics
  • RF & Antenna
  • Interconnects
  • Safety Electronics
  • Test Systems
  • Schematic design
  • PCB Design
  • Adherence to BS EN Standards

Other required skills include:

  • Excellent verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong written engineering documentation skills.
  • Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team with a passion for innovation and collaboration.
  • Record of on‑time delivery.

Experience supporting manufacturing and resolving manufacturing issues is an advantage but not essential.
