Tasks
As a Site Engineer, you will provide technical and quality assurance for a wide range of civil engineering works. You will be part of a major projects delivery team, providing valuable support to help deliver a key piece of critical infrastructure for the North West.
- Support with the planning and sequencing of your section of work (method statements, RAMS, permits), ensuring programme certainty.
- Oversee subcontractor setting-out and survey control, providing assurance checks; manage as-builts, red-lines, and test/inspection records against ITPs.
- Ensure subcontractor safe systems of work are implemented, and support the team in ensuring compliance.
- Take responsibility for ensuring the subcontractor quality documentation is implemented and adhered to.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and follow processes to provide certainty on construction compliance, and ultimate handover to the authorities and client.
- Deliver all works in line with permanent and temporary designs.
- Support with the management of subcontractors, daily briefings, progress tracking, and short-term lookaheads.
- Interface with utilities teams for crossings/diversions; follow HSG
47 controls and Permit-to-Dig. - Take responsibility for the collation of files for quality records (ITP deliverables etc.) for relevant works.
- Assist with the development and preparation of any documentation – produce ITPS, RAMs and VTS as needed.
- Support the Temporary Works Supervisor to ensure compliance.
- Assist with the ordering of any material and equipment needed to deliver the works.
- Provide support to the Engineering team by raising any required RFIs, change requests, or non-conformances for sign-off.
- Take part in the maintenance of 4-week lookahead programmes, and monitor progress.
- Provide support with the preparation of any documentation required for consents. Ensure the works comply with any consent obligations.
- Maintain daily records, progress measures and handover documentation; support commercial change with clear evidence.
- Site engineering experience in civil engineering projects.
- Proficient in surveying and digital QA.
- CSCS.
- Competent in GNSS/Total Station.
- First Aid at Work.
- Temporary Works awareness.
