Due to continued growth and investment, David Wood Baking is looking for experienced Multi-Skilled (Mechanical & Electrical) Shift Engineers to join our engineering team.
David Wood Baking is a food manufacturing organisation with a site based in Bolton. We have over 20 years experience in the food business, and currently produce a range of quality products for the retail and food service industry from seven high-tech factories.
In the last 12 months, we have invested heavily in our plant and team and we are now looking to expand our engineering team, by seeking experienced multi-skilled Shift Engineers to join the team.
MULTI-SKILLED ENGINEER- Planned and reactive maintenance across the site
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
- Breakdown response to minimise production downtime
- Maintenance of motors, drives, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics
- Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability
- Planned and reactive maintenance of production machinery
- Fault finding and repair of bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes and conveyors
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Welding, fabrication and machining
- Identify and implement improvements to equipment reliability
- Electrical fault finding and repair of production equipment
- PLC fault finding and control systems
- Motors, drives, control panels and instrumentation
- Electrical installation and testing
- Support planned maintenance and reliability improvements
- Time-served Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineer
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent is essential
- Manufacturing or FMCG experience is essential
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
- Good understanding of Health & Safety
- Flexible approach to shift working
