The Role

We are seeking a skilled, proactive and enthusiastic Theatre and Venue Technician to join our team. This is a key role within our venue, supporting the successful delivery of a diverse programme of performances and events. As a Theatre & Venue Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation, operation and maintenance of venue equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge or theatre production systems, excellent problem‑solving skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in creating outstanding experiences for our audiences, guests and performers.

About You

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in theatrical sound and lighting, including the programming and operation of digital sound and lighting systems, as well as experience in get‑ins and outs for productions and events, with a strong understanding of backstage and technical theatre practices. You will possess excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills, enabling you to work effectively with colleagues, visiting companies and clients to drive a varied programme of events and productions, including our yearly pantomimes.

You will be able to prioritise workloads, solve problems under pressure and contribute to the successful delivery of a varied programme of events.

Above all, you will be passionate about live events, committed to delivering high‑quality experiences, and flexible in your approach to supporting the needs of a busy and dynamic venue.
