Accounts Assistant (AAT Level 2 Minimum)

We are working with an established and growing SME with an excellent reputation in our sector, and we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our friendly finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a minimum of AAT Level 2 who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional business environment.

Reporting to the Finance Manager/Director, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, including:

• Raising and issuing customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Managing aged debt reports and maintaining accurate debtor records
• Proactive credit control - chasing overdue payments via phone and email
• Setting up new customer accounts and performing credit checks
• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices
• Coding invoices accurately to the correct nominal ledger accounts
• Preparing supplier payment runs (BACS/cheque)
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
• Posting and reconciling company credit card transactions
• Performing regular bank reconciliations
• Assisting with VAT return preparation
• Providing general finance and administrative support as required

• Holds AAT Level 2 (minimum) - Level 3 desirable
• Has previous experience in a similar account's role within an SME
• Has good IT skills (experience with accounting software and Excel preferred)

• 37.5 hours - flexible start and finish times - Mon-Fri
