Description Our Bolton office are looking for an exceptional portfolio manager to join our accounting team and hit the ground running with their own direct supportive team, consisting of an accountant and bookkeeper, providing an exemplary service to their own portfolio of limited company clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent service, support and business advice in a proactive manner for a portfolio of limited company clients
  • Manage and review the preparation of statutory and management accounts from planning to completion ensuring they are prepared in a timely manner and that they meet HMRC and Companies House standards and deadlines
  • Manage and review corporation tax, personal tax and VAT computations and returns
  • Analyse company accounts to provide specialised tailored advisory services to clients
  • Manage company secretarial tasks including CS01’s, company formations and ad-hoc forms
  • Monitor deadlines for all your client portfolio jobs, including accounts, VAT, tax returns, CS01's etc
  • Manage, lead, develop and monitor performance of a team of senior and junior members to ensure standards, compliance and service are maintained
  • Provide advice to clients regarding tax planning including remuneration strategy, pension contributions, capital assets etc
  • Liaise with credit control department to ensure services are provided, billed and our credit control policy is adhered to
  • Liaise with personal tax manager on self assessment preparation for your portfolio of clients as well as with the wider tax specialist team on specific client tax matters
  • Regular reporting to senior management on statistics for your portfolio of clients
  • Attend and conduct client meetings when required
  • Actively build your portfolio of clients and upsell/cross sell services through business development strategies
  • Help excel the team through training and leadership
  • Set and maintain the highest standard of quality to all clients
  • Set an example for the team as a natural leader
Key Requirements
  • Minimum ACCA/ACA qualified with minimum 3 years’ experience in practice (will consider part ACCA/ACA qualified with considerable experience of managing an accounting team)
  • Proven experience of managing own portfolio of clients as well as team management
  • Experience of using cloud accounting software (preferably Xero) and knowledge of accounting support software (examples: Dext, CCH etc)
