Mac Gregor Black are partnering with a leading consumer products business on the search for a Financial Controller
. This is a permanent role based in Bolton
.

As Financial Controller, you will lead the finance function across the UK and European operations, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting and statutory compliance. You ll be responsible for developing a talented finance team, strengthening financial processes and partnering with colleagues across the business to support commercial decision making and future growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on finance leader who enjoys balancing strategic involvement with operational delivery in an international environment.

• Lead and develop the finance team across accounting, transactional finance and financial reporting.
• Oversee the month end close process, management reporting and production of accurate financial statements.
• Ensure all statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit requirements are delivered to the highest standard.
• Manage cash flow reporting, treasury activities and balance sheet integrity.
• Partner with operational teams to improve inventory management, costing and financial performance.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls and standardise processes across multiple European entities.
• Support business improvement initiatives, including finance transformation and ERP related projects.
• Build strong relationships with external auditors, advisors, banks and regulatory bodies.
• Provide meaningful financial insight and analysis to support senior leadership and strategic decision making.
• Coach, mentor and develop the finance team, creating a culture focused on continuous improvement and accountability.

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Significant post qualification experience within Financial Control, Accounting or Finance Leadership.
• Previous experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting and audit.
• Experience operating within a multi entity and ideally international business.
• Strong ERP systems experience with excellent Excel skills.
• Commercially minded with the ability to influence stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
• A proactive individual who enjoys improving processes and driving operational excellence.
