Working as a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor on ABLs targeted weight management programme Your Health Bolton you will be working with adults to support, motivate and advise those who are currently overweight or obese. You will be passionate about working with individuals to begin the life changing processes necessary for permanent and continued weight loss and weight maintenance.
Main duties of the jobAs a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor, you will deliver group weight management sessions that include nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change, in line with ABL Health protocols and NICE guidance. You will carry out client-centred assessments using motivational interviewing and positive psychology to support progress and maintain a caseload, monitoring outcomes and signposting to relevant interventions. Responsibilities include accurate record-keeping and data entry, contributing to the development of service resources, and supporting goal setting using SMART principles.
Youll work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team, addressing broader lifestyle factors such as alcohol, smoking, and physical activity. The role also involves attending training, team meetings, and stakeholder events to promote the service and ensure quality standards are met.

Job responsibilitiesYou will be a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor for Your Health Bolton, delivering our targeted weight management curriculum, including engaging and informative nutrition sessions and suitable physical activity contributing towards getting the residents of Bolton active through our interventions.
You will be a motivated, passionate, organised, and proactive advisor, with experience working in community health programmes. You will be passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and delivering motivational change which is client centred. You will have a background in supporting people to build their confidence and ability to make sustainable healthy behaviour changes which works for their personal circumstances.
Our team have working backgrounds in nutrition, weight management, exercise, brief alcohol advice and smoking cessation. We offer you a full in-house training package to help you support our clients on their journey to a sustainable healthy lifestyle change.
Deliver group weight management sessions, incorporating nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change in line with ABL Health protocols and NICE guidance
Lead client-centred assessments and use motivational interviewing and positive psychology techniques to support individual progress
Maintain a client caseload, monitoring progress and directing individuals to suitable lifestyle interventions
Accurately complete all administrative duties, including client records and data entry, in line with organisational procedures
Keep knowledge and qualifications up to date to ensure evidence-based practice
Develop and contribute to service resources and improvements
Support goal setting using SMART principles and work flexibly within a multi-disciplinary team to address wider lifestyle factors (e.g., alcohol, smoking, physical activity)
Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and ensure adherence to clinical governance and quality standards
Attend stakeholder events to help promote the service and encourage referrals

The postholder will be responsible for maintaining the clinical and/or corporate records that fall within the remit of this role to the standards in ABLs records management policies, and data quality processes and standards.
