We have a great opportunity within our IPU team for a Clinical Support Nurse. We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated Health Care Assistants and Clinical Support Nurses who are looking to develop skills and knowledge within specialist palliative care.
Salary £24,465 per annum WTE
(plus unsocial hours enhancements paid in addition)
23 hours - 37.5 hours per week - Flexible Dependent upon Applicants
The role covers a 24 hour, 7 day service and will therefore include weekends and rotation to night duty.
Long day shifts and night shifts would be expected.
Main duties of the jobWorking as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, you will support and assist the qualified nursing staff in providing hands‑on, person‑centered health care to patients with complex clinical needs. This includes working in a similar capacity as a Health Care Assistant. As well as clerical and administrative duties, other duties include cleaning and ancillary responsibilities. Our health care staff strive to provide the highest quality of service for our patients and their families and carers, through a collaborative team approach.
We are looking for someone compassionate and caring, with excellent communication and team‑working skills. Experience of working in a care setting is desirable. Jobresponsibilities
To deliver a range of patient care duties under the indirect supervision of registered nurses.
To assist registered staff in the provision of high quality palliative care for patients, their relatives and carers.
Person Specification Qualifications- Good level of English and maths.
- NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent
- Able to work proactively, independently and on own initiative
- Adaptable and able to work in a team environment.
- Able to work under pressure.
- A commitment to the vision and values of Bolton Hospice.
- Full driving licence and access to own vehicle for business use subject to the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
- Good administration and organisational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to monitor quality
- Punctual, reliable and flexible
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- Ability to apply evidence to practice
- Evidence of record keeping
- Knowledge of health care agenda
- Experience of working within a health care setting
