Speech and language Therapist

Bolton Adult Speech and Language Team are recruiting a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our acute team. The successful applicant will work with stroke and acute patients.

• Provide communication assessment, treatment and management of patients on the Acute Stroke Unit and across other adult wards at Royal Bolton Hospital.
• After Dysphagia training, manage patients with swallowing difficulties.
• Work collaboratively with community Stroke Service Speech and Language Therapists.
• Use FEES and videofluoroscopy, with opportunities to develop knowledge in these areas.
• Work independently as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing advice at case conferences and scheduled meetings.
• Liaise with, train, and work in partnership with other health and social service professionals, patients, carers and external agencies.
• Deliver high quality speech and language therapy with a strong commitment to ongoing service development.

Band 5 level experience in speech and language therapy, with competency in RCSLT newly qualified standards. Experience with adult patients with acquired speech and language difficulties, dysphagia, and stroke‑related conditions is preferred.
