Responsibilities- Support the delivery of a portfolio of Public Health work areas to improve population health and wellbeing outcomes in Bolton which contribute to reducing health inequalities.
- Part of developing key public health programmes, in partnership with other council directorates, local health and social care system, wider public and private sector, the community, voluntary and faith sector, and local communities.
- Support the commissioning of key public health programmes across a range of specific areas, including the regular review of interventions and services, using an outcomes‑based approach.
- Expected to work from Bolton Town Hall (or attending meetings/events in Bolton) for at least half of the working week in line with the Councils Hybrid Working Policy.
- This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
- Build strong partnerships, engage with local people and communities, and work collaboratively across a range of sectors to deliver place‑based population health, and prevention approaches that improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities.
- Develop, implement and monitor public health strategies and plans to improve population health and wellbeing outcomes, and be self‑motivated and innovative while working well within a team.
- Use skills of leadership, networking, negotiation and influencing: ensuring involvement, engagement and consultation, to improve health and reduce the health inequalities in Bolton.
- Degree in a relevant subject that supports Public Health / Social Science e.g. Maths, Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a post‑graduate degree in Public Health or related discipline.
