Description

The Social Monetisation Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying, optimising and replicating high-performing content and engagement strategies across social media for Newsquest’s titles, as well as helping newsrooms do the same. This is a revenue-generating position with a clear data-led strategy, designed to capitalise on the established and emerging opportunities of social content monetisation and take our earnings and audience engagement to the next level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse and optimise engagement
    Use a wealth of cutting‑edge platforms, tools and analytics to identify posts generating high engagement and replicate successful approaches across pages.
  • Replicate and scale best performers
    Identify top‑performing posts and content types from one title and adapt them for others across the Newsquest network.
  • Manage video content
    Optimise and post high‑engagement video content from our websites to social platforms.
  • Revenue tracking and reporting
    Track and analyse our social revenue monthly, sharing insights and best practices to increase revenue group-wide.
  • Influence
    Work with newsrooms across the country to help them get the best out of monetisation schemes in addition to the active, practical steps taken in this role to generate revenue.
  • Explore cross‑platform monetisation
    Research, test and implement monetisation models on all social platforms to diversify and future‑proof Newsquest’s social revenue streams.
Skills, knowledge & expertise
  • Strong ability to spot, optimise and replicate high‑performing social content across multiple brands.
  • Confident with analytics and revenue reporting, using data to drive decisions and demonstrate impact.
  • Skilled in creating and publishing high‑engagement video content tailored to platform best practice.
  • Good understanding of social platform monetisation models and emerging revenue opportunities.
  • Effective communicator able to influence and support newsrooms to adopt best‑practice approaches.
  • Commercially minded, proactive and skilled at turning insights into clear, repeatable playbooks.
