Overview
Bolton – MBDA is looking for an IT Lead Buyer to join its procurement team across the UK and Europe.
Salary & Working Conditions- Salary: Circa £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
- Work model: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week on-site, 2–3 days remote.
- Security clearance: British citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship; all successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
- Company bonus up to £2,500, annual variation.
- Pension – total contribution up to 14% (employer and employee).
- Paid overtime available.

We lead all aspects of IT spend across the Group, covering Enterprise Software, Engineering Software, Manufacturing Software, SaaS, Services, Cyber, Networks, Hardware, Security, AI and High Performance Computing. Candidates may specialise in one area or broaden their knowledge over time.
Key Responsibilities- Own and run large procurement projects to support Category Managers.
- Build and maintain internal and international relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Participate in quarterly team meetings, rotating between sites in the UK, Germany, Italy and Paris.
- Travel internationally for project and supplier meetings where necessary.
- Contribute to the development of IT procurement strategies and processes.
- Established IT procurement practitioner, or a procurement professional with strong skills in other indirect categories, ready to learn IT skills.
- Comfortable working in an international context and able to build cross‑border relationships.
- Strong communication and soft‑skills.
- Aiming, or willing to work, toward an MCIPS qualification – we offer routes to qualification.
