The Role

Exciting opportunities are available in Bolton’s Adult Neighbourhood Team, part of the Bolton Integrated Care Partnership. We work closely with health colleagues to support adults and carers under the Care Act 2014.

Current vacancies are in :
  • South Neighbourhood based at Farnworth Town Hall, covering BL3 and BL4
  • West Neighbourhood based at Winnifred Kettle, Westhoughton, covering BL5 and BL6

As Deputy Team Manager, you’ll support the Team Manager in leading a busy, multi-disciplinary team.

You’ll oversee daily operations, allocate work by risk and priority, and ensure statutory duties are met.

You’ll provide supervision, guidance, and leadership, supporting staff development through reflective practice and caseload supervision.

You’ll also chair multi-disciplinary and safeguarding meetings, manage resources and budgets, and uphold safeguarding processes and best practice. Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and related legislation is essential.

This role requires confident decision‑making, excellent communication, and the ability to support staff through complex situations.

You’ll help build strong, supportive communities and enable people to live well at home.

Interviews are scheduled for 15‑16 December at Horwich Public Hall. As part of the process, you’ll deliver a 5‑minute presentation (maximum 3 slides) to the panel. Subject matter of the presentation and details of where to send your completed presentation will be provided in your interview invitation, in the event your application is shortlisted.

About You

You are experienced in using information systems to manage and organise service delivery and am committed to continuous improvement, professional development, and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Social Work Deputy Team Manager with a passion for supporting adults. You’ll have 3+ years post‑qualifying experience and a strong understanding of the needs and aspirations of those we support.

You’re committed to high‑quality, person‑centred services and have experience managing statutory social work functions in partnership with health colleagues, carers, and community organisations. You have solid knowledge of Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005, using this to guide staff practice. You actively support the Integrated Care Partnership agenda, advocating for the service and promoting collaborative working across neighbourhood teams.

You mentor staff in relationship‑based, strength‑focused practice, encouraging innovation and independence. You’re confident leading multi‑disciplinary and safeguarding meetings and building links with voluntary and universal sectors.

You’re skilled in using information systems to manage service delivery and committed to continuous improvement, professional development, and fostering a learning culture within the team.
