About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Control Room Operator to join a busy Waste Treatment & Renewable Energy Facility based in Manvers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing operation where you will play a key role in the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the facility.

As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring plant and equipment from the control room, responding to operational issues and ensuring the facility operates in line with all health & safety, environmental and operational standards.

This role would suit someone with experience in waste management, recycling, manufacturing, process operations or a similar industrial environment who is looking to develop their career within the waste and renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the facility and associated plant and equipment from the control room.
  • Operate and control processes in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Monitor plant performance and identify faults, alarms and abnormalities.
  • Respond promptly to operational issues and elevate faults where required.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, logs and reports.
  • Liaise with engineers, maintenance teams and operational colleagues to resolve issues.
  • Carry out routine checks and inspections of plant and equipment.
  • Ensure all operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all health & safety, environmental and operational procedures.
  • Support the safe start-up, shutdown and isolation of plant and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management regarding plant performance and operational issues.
  • Assist with maintaining optimum plant efficiency and availability.
  • Report any environmental, safety or operational concerns immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working in a control room, process plant, manufacturing, waste management or a similar industrial environment.
  • A good understanding of health & safety procedures.
  • The ability to monitor multiple systems and respond effectively to alarms or operational changes.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • The ability to remain calm and focused in a busy operational environment.
  • Basic IT and computer skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational issues.

Experience with in waste treatment, recycling, energy recovery, renewable energy or process operations would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
