Position: CNC Machinist (Turning) / Machine Shop Engineer
Location: Farnworth

CNC Machinist (Turning) Irlam £40,000 - £48,500 (Based on experience and skills) Overtime, Pension, Holiday Monday to Friday - 7:30am-3:30pm My client, a specialist manufacturer of complex engineered components, is looking for a CNC Machinist (Turning) to join their growing engineering team. Producing high-specification parts from engineered plastics and fluoropolymers, this is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects within a precision engineering environment.

The business is open to different levels of experience and is looking for someone with strong CNC turning knowledge, a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for precision manufacturing.

Role Description Programme, set and operate CNC turning machines Edit and prove ISO turning programmes Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Select tooling, offsets and work holding equipment Carry out first-off inspections and quality checks Troubleshoot machining and production issues Maintain accurate production documentation Support continuous improvement and process development Work closely with engineering and production teams

Skills and Qualifications Strong CNC turning experience Experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes Fanuc control experience Ability to read engineering drawings Precision machining experience Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills Quality-focused approach Time-served mechanical engineering apprenticeship Desired Doosan machine experience Doosan Lynx 2100 experience Plastics, composites or PTFE machining experience Multi-axis turning experience Continuous improvement knowledge Company Information My client is a well-established precision engineering manufacturer that continues to invest in its people and machinery.
