We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly and professional team.

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, improving health outcomes, and supporting our GPs by managing a wide range of clinical responsibilities.

We are seeking an experienced and confident Practice Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in general practice, be confident in using the EMIS clinical system, and demonstrate a high standard of patient care and clinical competence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct health assessments, triage patients, and provide clinical advice.
  • Administer childhood and travel vaccinations, wound care, cervical screening, B12 injections and other treatment procedures.
  • Support chronic disease management programs (e.g., diabetes, asthma, cardiovascular health).
  • Drawing bloods and provide patient education and health promotion activities (e.g., smoking cessation, weight management).
  • Manage infection control and maintain clinical equipment.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records using electronic health systems.
  • Work within regulatory and clinical governance frameworks, ensuring best practice standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to practice audits and reviews.
About us

At Al Fal Medical Group, we are proud of our dedicated and experienced team. Our surgery is led by three Partners, two clinical Partners and one non-clinical Partner who work together to ensure the highest standard of care for our patients.

The day-to-day operations of the surgery are managed by our Practice Manager, while our Reception Manager oversees all reception duties to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for everyone who visits.

Supporting our operations, we have a team of four skilled administrative and reception staff members. Their training, efficiency, and commitment are vital to the seamless running of our practice.

We are proud to serve a patient population of 5,150 here at Al Fal Medical Group.

Job responsibilities
  • Prior experience working in a general practice setting is essential.
  • Confidence and proficiency in using the EMIS clinical system is essential.
  • Provide skilled nursing care and advice to patients, including chronic disease management (e.g., asthma, diabetes, hypertension)
  • Conduct health screenings and immunisations (childhood and adult vaccinations)
  • Perform cervical smears and participate in the cervical screening programme.
  • Offer health promotion and lifestyle advice (e.g., smoking cessation, weight management).
  • Support and participate in Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) achievement.
  • Work closely with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other team members to deliver integrated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records following practice policies and protocols.
  • Oversee Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures throughout the surgery, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Prior experience in a general practice setting.
  • Post-registration experience in a primary care or community setting.
  • Confident in using the EMIS clinical system.
  • Completion of training in key clinical areas, including:
  • Chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD).
  • Cervical screening (must hold smear-taking certification).
  • Childhood and adult immunisations.
  • Travel health advice and vaccinations.
  • Phlebotomy must be competent in drawing blood.
  • Wound care and management.
  • Up-to-date Basic Life Support (BLS) and Anaphylaxis training.
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication, clinical, and organisational skills.
