Overview
Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust’s Children’s Integrated Health and Wellbeing Service is recruiting a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – School Nurse to work in Bolton, Greater Manchester. The role supports the Healthy Child Programme, delivers universal and partnership health and development reviews, and works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to protect and promote child health.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a universal plus and partnership plus caseload of children and families in Bolton.
- Provide health and development reviews, health promotion, and screening, tailored to each child’s needs.
- Lead on the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, including assessment of strengths, needs and risks.
- Offer additional support during key times to protect children and families at risk.
- Collaborate with local agencies, schools, and community partners to safeguard and improve outcomes.
- Mentor pre‑ and post‑registration students and staff, and support professional development.
- Use information systems and evidence‑based practice for problem solving and service improvement.
- NMC registration and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – School Nurse qualification (SCPHN) or pending.
- Demonstrated safeguarding and early intervention experience.
- Evidence of CPD, EBP, leadership and mentoring skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation abilities.
- Experience in multidisciplinary and public health settings.
- Proficiency with information systems and clinical knowledge relevant to the post.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good organisational and prioritisation skills.
- European Computer Driving Licence and knowledge of local community is desirable.
