CCA Test Equipment – Production Support Engineer

Location:

Bolton

Salary: £46,475 per year (estimated)

Employment type:

Full time, dynamic hybrid (4–5 days on site per week)

Security clearance:
British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship; BPSS required after offer.

The Opportunity

You will act as the interface between design and manufacturing teams to provide knowledge, support and continuous improvement, and help shape and deliver products to support our customers. The role focuses on advanced circuit card test capabilities, with opportunities to work on other unique systems within MBDA’s portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and support of automated test equipment for production circuit cards.
  • Develop and maintain hardware and software test systems.
  • Provide technical documentation, schematics, PCB layouts and engineering drawings.
  • Use NI LabVIEW and/or Test Stand for test development.
  • Implement boundary scan/XJTAG for hardware diagnostics.
  • Investigate and resolve design‑related issues, propose corrective actions.
  • Collaborate across multi‑disciplinary teams and manage discreet work packages.
  • Support manufacturing processes and resolve manufacturing issues (advantage).
Qualifications
  • Degree‑qualified or equivalent industry experience.
  • Significant experience designing/supporting automated test equipment.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
  • Experience creating and using technical documentation and drawings.
  • Proficiency in NI LabVIEW and/or Test Stand.
  • Experience with boundary scan / XJTAG (preferred).
  • Strong investigative skills for root‑cause analysis.
  • Excellent verbal, written and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, lead delivery of work assignments and engage stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and resolving issues is an advantage.
