About the OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a global automotive technology manufacturer at its Bolton facility on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to influence supplier performance, support new product launches and drive continuous improvement across a global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities - Supplier Quality Engineer- Support the approval and qualification of new suppliers through management system and process audits.
- Manage supplier activities throughout New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring project deadlines are achieved.
- Lead Supplier APQP and PPAP approval activities.
- Conduct ongoing supplier audits and assessments to maintain supplier approval status.
- Develop suppliers through training, coaching and deployment of quality standards.
- Carry out supplier visits for audits, development projects and corrective action reviews.
- Act as the primary quality interface between suppliers and the business.
- Monitor and report supplier quality KPIs, driving improvements in supplier performance.
- Lead supplier corrective and preventive action activities.
- Manage quality-related aspects of supplier change control processes.
- Investigate and manage supplier non-conformances and rejection issues.
- HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Qualified IATF 16949 and/or VDA 6.3 Auditor.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Supplier Quality or Quality Engineering role.
- Automotive experience preferred, although backgrounds in electronics, mechanical manufacturing or high-volume assembly environments will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, R&R and supplier development methodologies.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and managing supplier improvement projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable travelling to supplier sites when required.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
