Sales Engineer – Capital Equipment
Location: Home‑based role with UK & Ireland travel
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per annum
Bonus: 10%

The CompanyWe are working with a major OEM and global market leader in bottling and filling line technology. The business is world‑renowned, operating across every continent and holding an estimated 75% global market share. They design and manufacture fully bespoke, high‑value production lines for leading brands across multiple sectors.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales Engineer to sell capital equipment solutions into the Home & Personal Care, Liquid Food Filling, and Sauces markets across UK & Ireland. You will be responsible for selling bespoke labelling, blow moulding, and filling lines, with individual order values typically ranging from £300k to £700k. The role requires a technically minded, consultative sales professional who can work closely with customer engineering teams to design and propose tailored solutions.
Approximately 50% of the role will involve new business development, including cold calling, prospecting, and opening new accounts. Sales cycles are typically 6–12 months, reflecting the complexity and value of the machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Sell bespoke capital equipment solutions into the Personal Care and Liquid Food sectors
- Develop new business through active prospecting and cold calling
- Manage complex, long‑cycle sales from initial contact through to order placement
- Act as a technical consultant, working directly with customer engineers and production teams
- Build strong, long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers
- Achieve a sales target of £3.5m within the first two years
- Proven experience selling capital equipment
- Background selling into Personal Care, Liquid Food, or similar process‑driven industries
- Strong hunter mentality with a track record of winning new accounts
- Technically competent, ideally holding an engineering qualification
- Confident engaging with engineering and technical stakeholders
- Comfortable selling high‑value, bespoke machinery
- Consultative, solution‑led sales approach
