Role OverviewWe are looking for enthusiastic and passionate experienced Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners to join the Safeguarding Team.
Salary for Senior Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners: £41,771 to £46,142 (Grade I).
Our Safeguarding Service supports children and families who require a longer‑term social worker, including those children supported under Child in Need, subject to Child Protection plans, and subject to the Public Law Outline, including those children within care proceedings, and where their final care plan may be one of adoption.
Advanced PractitionerThe Advanced Practitioner is an experienced Social Worker with at least 3 years’ experience within a children’s social work setting. The post holder is expected to work with a complex caseload, chair meetings, complete assessments to a high standard, manage complex cases and help managers improve practice across the service. The role also includes mentoring social workers in their Assisted and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and represents a step towards a career in management.
SeniorSocial Workers
Senior Social Workers demonstrate expert practice in complex situations, assessing and managing high levels of risk, striking a balance between support and control, liaising with a wide range of professionals, including senior levels. They manage complex caseloads, offer expert opinion, chair meetings, and support and mentor others.

Requirements and ConditionsFull driving licence (essential). Social work qualified and registered with the Scottish Welfare Establishment (SWE). Enhanced DBS with check of relevant barred list required. Specified level of spoken English as per the person specification. The post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty. The contract is permanent.
