To lead and manage the goalkeeping coaching across the Academy. Ensuring coaching, welfare and education philosophies are upheld and in line with the Club's Academy Performance Plan.

Main areas of responsibility

  • Monitor goalkeeping coaching and promote good practice across all age groups.
  • Work with the Academy Manager and Head of Coaching to set targets and outcomes in line with the Academy's Performance Plan.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with First Team coaching staff.
  • Assist First Team Goalkeeping Coach during training sessions.
  • Ensure coaching files for all goalkeepers are maintained and up-to-date.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updating of player information on the Academy's player management system.
  • Effectively recruit, manage and develop part-time coaches to achieve the level of coaching required for the Academy's goalkeeping curriculum.
  • Liaise with the Recruitment Officer and other key staff to manage and develop Academy players across the Academy.
  • Arrange trialist days to recruit new goalkeepers.
  • Manage and record coaches' attendance and CPD; attend and report at Parents' evenings.

General Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as required, which are considered relevant to the post and to the objectives of the Group as identified by the Head of Academy.
  • Treat all colleagues as customers ensuring respectful positive outcomes across communications.
  • Adhere to and abide by all BWFC policies, procedures, and guidelines especially remembering responsibilities to others under Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity.

About The Candidate

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Hold a minimum of a UEFA B Licence and FA Goalkeeping B Licence.
  • FA Advanced Youth Award
  • Significant experience of working in a professional football club
  • Be a member of the FA Licensed Coaching Club.
  • Significant experience of EPPP.
  • Hold in date and valid Safeguarding Children and Emergency 1st Aid certification.
  • Have a working knowledge of BWFC and it's Academy.
  • Customer focus:Develops and maintains knowledge of the needs of customers and focuses energy and efforts on meeting these needs.
  • Effective communication:Communicates confidently and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Team working:Supports others in the achievement of their objectives.
  • Personal effectiveness:Develops effective plans to deliver optimum results within agreed time frames, by the most cost efficient route.
