Primary Purpose

Qualifications- Master’s degree required
- Doctorate Degree preferred
- Valid Texas Certificate in Supervision, Administration, Mid-Management Administrator, Principal and/or such other credentials as may be required by the State Board of Educator Certification for this position
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a campus principal
- Central Office Experience preferred
- Assist all campuses in fostering a productive school climate by reinforcing excellence and promoting a positive, caring climate.
- Assist campuses in determining recognition for meeting and/or exceeding established student achievement targets.
- Improve campus outcomes by providing principals frequent, structured, and action-oriented feedback.
- Serve as a broker for district resources (including discretionary funds) and tools that support principal effectiveness, teacher growth, and student achievement.
- Coordinate the District Planning and Decision-Making Committee including creating the district school calendar, Parent Involvement Plan, Campus Improvement Plans.
- Act as the District Coordinator of School Improvement.
- Assist the superintendent in the daily operation of the school district.
- Serve as acting superintendent in the superintendent’s absence.
- Continuously appraise and evaluate the District’s initiatives to determine their impact on student achievement.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent regarding needs for student achievement improvement.
- Monitor student achievement data and interpret reports; provide leadership in determining appropriate intervention(s) based on data.
- Apply research, district data, and effective practices to improve the content, sequence, delivery, and assessment of the curriculum and instruction.
- Lead district-level decision making process regarding instructional programs.
- Lead district-level decision making process regarding professional development needs at campuses identified for school improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate for effectiveness district identified research-based instructional strategies; recommend changes and improvements as needed.
- Assist vertical articulation and horizontal alignment of programs through curriculum development, curriculum management, and instructional delivery.
- Identify and promote instructional practices that improve teaching and learning.
- Develop leadership skills in the administrative team to ensure consistent high student achievement on all elementary campuses.
- Develop common district-wide systems and structures that promote, support, and track campus instructional goals (e.g., establishing common Professional Learning Community (PLC) expectations for DDI).
- Gather and track campus trend data via frequent campus walks with principals (e.g., Conduct Beginning-Of-Year, Middle-Of-Year, and End-Of-Year trend analysis for instructional and PLC data).
- Oversee all district accountability (Local, State, and Federal), including all testing calendars, Board reports, MAP, HB 3 Goals, TAPR and Annual District Report.
- Oversee district CCMR/CTE programs.
- Oversee Dual Credit Program, liaison to Grayson College and Paris Junior College.
- Supervise central office curriculum staff to improve student achievement at all campuses identified.
- Supervise campus principals assisting them with student achievement, student discipline, resource allocation, and personnel.
- Coach principals toward high expectations, appreciation, and continuous improvement for all stakeholders (i.e., students, staff, leaders, and parents).
- Coach principals to identify students who are struggling, persistently low achieving or underrepresented, and develop action plans to address student needs.
