ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE

Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
• Experience in retail basics including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
• Assist guests in a welcoming manner to solve their needs.
• Thank guests and express appreciation for shopping at Target.
• Receive products, restock shelves, organize the backroom, arrange merchandise, and set up promotional signage for GM areas as directed.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified.
• Change prices, set up and maintain merchandise, and ensure inventory accuracy as directed.
• Learn operational procedures affecting inventory, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to resolve guest issues and improve experiences.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely and report hazards.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking/packing orders or delivering pickup orders) while complying with relevant laws.
• All other duties based on business needs.

Physical requirements and schedule

• Occasional lifting up to 44 pounds; ability to climb ladders
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures and environments as required
