Edinburgh (Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite in Leith) £60,000 - £70,000 + Benefits Permanent

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced  Senior User Researcher  to join a growing digital transformation team delivering impactful public sector programmes.

This role offers the opportunity to work within multidisciplinary teams, helping shape services through evidence-led research and user-centred design. You'll collaborate with service designers, product managers, business analysts, delivery managers and technical specialists to ensure services are designed around real user needs.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading user research across Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live phases.
Planning and conducting interviews, usability testing, workshops and contextual research.
Synthesising research findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
Supporting product, service and delivery decisions through evidence-based research.
Working closely with multidisciplinary Agile teams.

Essential Experience

Significant experience delivering User Research within digital transformation or service improvement programmes.
Strong Public Sector or Government experience is essential.
Excellent understanding of GDS principles, Service Standards and User-Centred Design.
Experience delivering a range of qualitative research methods.
Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
Experience working within multidisciplinary Agile teams.
Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design.
