Seasonal Position May-August. Responsible for the day-to-day management of cabin/camper life for teen programs, special teen overnight camp programming, outpost trip management, and support of all seasonal camp staff.

Camp Fire creates safe spaces where young people can have fun and be themselves. We do this through a variety of powerful youth experiences and programs including Community Clubs, Before- and After-School Care, Out-of-School Time Programs, Day and Overnight Camps, and Teen Leadership Development – collectively serving more than 1,500 central Iowa youth every year.
Plan and implement teen specific camp programming:
- Uphold program quality expectations in all activities.
- Plan and execute leadership development and counselor-in-training lessons that align with camp staff training and Camp Fire values.
- Supervise Apprentices and ensure assigned responsibilities are completed.
- Ensure all relevant safety regulations and ACA standards are followed.
Support camp staff:
- Communicate any staff or parent concerns to the Administrative Team.
- Assist staff, as needed, with camp activities.
- Provide encouragement and support to seasonal staff so they can be their best selves for campers.
Serve as a resource for behavior management techniques, technical skills, and program policy to all Counselors and Apprentices.
Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times:
- Help campers have fun, take risks, make friends, resolve conflicts, and develop skills.
- Provide encouragement to all campers and motivate them to participate in new/challenging activities.
